Gremlin, in specifics, your post isn't worth responding to. However, in general, you asked "where is the line drawn". For me, that line is somewhere after "fix-it checkpoints" and somewhere before "roadside cavity searches".

BTW, I'm just curious. When, exactly, has a roadside cavity search ever been legal?

When I lived in FL a number of years ago, there was no state inspection on cars. Some of the biggest pieces of shit were all over the roads. I literally seen parts falling off some cars, as they were driving down the road, to say nothing of the smog coming from some of those rolling derelicts.

Want to drive a clunker? Awesome. But, when your clunker causes problems for other motorists, maybe not so awesome. Even small things like blinkers...there's a reason why we have blinkers. There is more than one person on the road.

Btw...radio stations would also broadcast where the speed traps were, so those weren't too big of a deal.

Not sure if any of this is still going on though. I haven't been to FL in a long time.
