Anyway, this all distracts from the point of the thread, which is how can we re-engineer human society to make it better?

Clearly any type of reasonable social structure from this point on is going to have to feature the consent of the governed as one of it's main features. Regressive political tactics and philosophies can be dismissed out of hand as irrelevant.

I can only hope that one some point in history that Cy-Mericans look back at this era of corruption with disdain.
