Anyone else notice that all the media is reporting how he was a darling of the poor. How they were the ones that elected him, loved him, benefitted from him.
Well, if he was so good for the poor . . . how come there were still so many of them in Venezuela when he died? Seems like, with 14 years of rule, nationalizing on of the largest and richest oil industries in the world then giving all that to the poor . . . shouldn't there have been far fewer poor people?
Sure, the income inequality there is better than it was back then. But, Venezuela is stil more unequal than most European countries, the EU as a whole, and Canada. In fact, according to the Gini index, Venezuela is EXACTLY average with respect to income equality.
