Garage tinkerers are an important source of American technical innovation. Eliminating all avenues for spontaneous innovation for common people because it might be dangerous in exchange for imaginary or negligible gains in actual security is shooting ourselves in the foot as a nation.

Know this, having any type of unusual skill will be a threat to the state in this brave new corporate world. Because if you have skills you are no longer an interchangeable cog that corporate America can abuse. Planners know this and are actively working to to develop industrial techniques that reduce or eliminate the need for skilled labor.
