ok i'm about to actually hop on.
exploited is on antartica server, do we want to get on that one? we have to be on same server, i guess, not only to play together but to see each other (shitty EA developers are shitty). also, no friend request... i think? f**k ea
i do have the answer for your water woes though, Kane. if you use a water treatment plant it dumps back clean water into the ground. put water treatment plant next to the big water pumps and there ya go, should work out just fine. you don't need to filter it either (unless near other pollution) as the treatment plant puts clean water in the ground. all the other water is supposedly replenished slowly over time
i agree the budget should take into account the other things but on the other hand, those are profits by amount of product as opposed to most everything else which is just time based for expenses and for income. so as it's not steady it's difficult to tell. i was saving up for something and all the sudden my money was all gone from importing stuff for my arcology... oops
sandbox helps you play with how things should be laid out, how roads work and whatnot, in order to experiment, as you're kinda f**k if you put something down wrong that costs a lot of money. sandbox isn't really fun, it's just to learn how it works
in re to your issue with the freight train... do you have goods at the port? that is, do you have a coal storage lot and coal sitting in it? or do you have coal at the depot?

My life has become a single, ongoing revelation that I haven’t been cynical enough.
