whaling isn't' stupid. whale oil is, bar none, the product to use for lubrication. governments have outlawed it, and i think that's wrong. true, the demand is low and people would naturally not hunt many of them, but there is some form of demand. conversely there's more demand for keeping sperm whales alive though than dead; ambergris goes for about $60K/pound
but i just don't think i can support groups of vigilantes taking their own version of what they think the law ought be going around destroying people's lives
