Bah. All about ratings. Rome declined in viewership during its first season, and the second season didn't buck the trend. GoT on the other hand picked up new viewers each episode of its first season, even beating the premier with the finale, which almost never happens.
Its too bad. Rome was the better show.
Also, finally watched the GoT premier. Meh. I thought it was a good decision to reveal the identity of Selmy from the start. Needless complication. They gave screen time to Sansa, who, much like in the books I'd like to see offed somehow gruesome, but no time on Arya or Brienne.
