Support a politician that says college is not for everyone?

Yes, I am not of the belief everyone must go to college, but of the belief everyone should have a both been given the tools growing up to utilize it and a realistic opportunity to afford college should they choose it.

In other words, education at the primary and secondary level should be good and some forms of college should be affordable/attainable for all. But if someone doesn't process the education or simply wants to go another path, that's fine.

Ideally, tuition at 4 year schools would be free, but the process of getting in the door should be very selective. Raise the bar. No more people admitted to universities who can't do middle school algebra or compose an expository correctly. No more people who have literally never read a book cover to cover in their life.

Anyone who can't meet the requirements can work hard at a two year school until they can. If they aren't willing to do that, or are making life decisions that run counter to that, then they don't want it bad enough anyways.

The people with the merit should have every financial aid they need. Those without shouldn't. If we restrict people based on their finances, we aren't doing ourselves any favors, as money is not merit.
