Of all the natural disasters I think tornadoes are the scariest. I am very happy we don't get them up here..

they didn't vote against the aid, they voted against the other crap that was with the aid. for example coburn listed several items that he found questionable with the sandy relief bill.

they want to pay for disaster relief. they just wanted something else to pay for it (well, no ice cream kids if you want disaster relief), and to not just add in more shit that isn't disaster relief into the bill. coburn for example, when he supported funds for the OK city bombing relief effort, supported how those funds were offset. i'm sure he'll want the same again.

On the slightly good news front (or less bad news), the death toll has been lowered to 24 for the moment. It appears some of the fatalities had been counted twice in the fog of the search and rescue.

As of this morning, CBS news was reporting 90 dead, which was by far the most I had seen anywhere.

Talk about "journalistic integrity" - yeesh. They weren't even in the ballpark.

That's crazy. Well, atm I have nothing going on today and I'm just sitting here watching the news about our current conditions. Things are supposed to pick up here pretty soon in the next couple of hours. Schools nearby are actually closing early and sending kids home. Probably not necessarily fear of tornados but panic from yesterdays school getting hit.
