because i can read the newspaper, given that it is written at an 8th grade level, and being from a small town i know exactly who is being arrested, by whom, who is defending them, who the judge is, and if they have any previous criminal background. i also know exactly what they did because i'm probably friends with at least half their friends who were there when they did it. so when someone gets caught shooting off an unregistered firearm they usually serve jail time for it.
